Energy
Africa’s energy transition requires solutions built around the realities of its markets.
CrossAfrique Energy develops energy businesses and projects by bringing together the right combination of renewable generation, energy storage, bioenergy, infrastructure and emerging low-carbon technologies.
Our approach starts with the energy need rather than a predetermined technology. We assess the market, available resources, infrastructure and commercial requirements to develop solutions that are practical, scalable and suited to their operating environment.
From our base in the Netherlands, CrossAfrique Energy provides the group platform for international partnerships, investment relationships and the development of businesses and projects across Africa.

INTEGRATING GREEN HYDROGEN INTO THE ENERGY SYSTEM
The specialist green hydrogen arm of CrossAfrique Energy. Its focus is the integration of green hydrogen into wider energy systems. Rather than treating hydrogen as a standalone technology, CrossAfrique Hydrogen develops applications where hydrogen can work alongside renewable electricity, energy storage and other energy technologies. The objective is to identify where hydrogen creates genuine value within the energy system, including energy storage, system resilience, industrial applications and the production of green molecules.

CrossAfrique Energy is developing a growing portfolio of energy and industrial projects across West, East and Southern Africa. Our approach is built around local partnerships, market needs and the resources available in each region, with projects spanning renewable power, energy storage, bioenergy, green hydrogen, green molecules and industrial decarbonisation.

WEST AFRICA
West Africa is a strong part of our project development portfolio, with Nigeria serving as a key market. Our activities include utility-scale and distributed solar PV and battery storage, renewable energy systems for universities and logistics facilities, green hydrogen integration, green ammonia, biomass-to-energy and fuels, mini-grid development and solutions aimed at replacing diesel generation.

EAST AFRICA
In East Africa, our current focus is on Kenya, where we are developing applications that combine renewable electricity with emerging clean-energy technologies. Our portfolio includes integrated energy solutions for critical infrastructure. We are working to establish partnerships with local companies, technology providers and energy users to develop projects that improve resilience, reduce dependence on diesel and demonstrate commercially viable applications for hydrogen and distributed renewable energy.

Southern Africa represents an important platform for CrossAfrique’s development of integrated bioenergy, green fuels and industrial energy solutions, with Namibia currently at the centre of our activities.
